Palliative Care

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care is compassionate end of life care provided by Physicians, Nurses and Personal Support Workers. It is typically provided to people with serious illnesses. End of life care focuses on the comfort of the patient, including:

  • Relief of Pain and Physical Stress
  • Mental Support for Patient and Family Members
  • Religious and Spiritual Support
  • Improvement of Quality of Life

Do I Need Palliative Care?

If you or a family member is suffering from a terminal illness and wishes to die comfortably at home, palliative care should be considered. Palliative care focuses on the human side of the illness.
